It is important to keep in mind that mice will continue to live indoors during the spring and summer and their activity also increases around the home. By allowing mice populations to increase around the home in the spring and summer the interior of your home is at an increased risk in the fall and winter once food and shelter are less abundant.
Mice are typically thought of as a fall and winter nuisance however, mice activity in the spring and summer may lead to larger problems in the fall and winter. Mice activity in the spring increases for a number of reasons such as more shelter, food, and warmer temperatures. These conditions allow for mice to easily reproduce and nest in areas such as air conditioners, sheds, hot tubs and generators. Having mice nest in these valuable areas can put equipment at risk since mice commonly chew on wiring.
